Terms and Conditions

Effective date: 01/06/2024
Last updated: 07/04/2026

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Virtual Focus website and the purchase of services from Virtual Focus.

By using this website, submitting an enquiry, or purchasing a service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

2. About Virtual Focus

Virtual Focus provides professional career support and related digital services, including services such as:

  • CV or resume rewriting
  • cover letter support
  • LinkedIn profile optimisation
  • profile photo guidance or selection
  • related career branding services

3. Quotes, Bookings, and Acceptance

A booking is only confirmed once Virtual Focus has accepted the client’s request and the required deposit has been paid.

Virtual Focus reserves the right to decline a project or enquiry at its discretion.

4. Pricing and Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the following payment terms apply:

  • a 50% deposit is required before any work begins
  • the remaining 50% balance is payable after the draft has been approved
  • final files or final delivery may be withheld until the outstanding balance has been paid in full

All prices displayed or quoted are subject to change at any time before booking is confirmed.

5. Deposits and Refunds

Once work has started, the deposit is non-refundable.

Work will be considered to have started once Virtual Focus has begun reviewing materials, planning, drafting, editing, reformatting, or otherwise carrying out the requested service.

If a client cancels before work has started, any refund will be at the discretion of Virtual Focus and may take into account any admin time or preparatory work already completed.

6. Turnaround Time

The standard turnaround time is 5 days, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Turnaround time begins once:

  • the required deposit has been paid, and
  • all information and materials reasonably needed to begin the project have been received

If the client delays in sending required information, feedback, or approvals, delivery timelines may be extended accordingly.

7. Revisions

Each project includes 1 revision, provided that the revision request is submitted within 5 days of draft delivery.

Revision requests received after the 5-day revision period may be treated as a new service or charged separately.

A revision applies to reasonable updates or adjustments to the delivered draft and does not include a full rewrite, change of scope, or additional services not included in the original package.

8. Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for:

  • providing accurate and complete information
  • ensuring that documents, wording, and career history supplied are truthful
  • reviewing the draft carefully before approval
  • responding within a reasonable time where feedback or confirmation is required
  • ensuring that they have the right to share any content, documents, or images submitted

Virtual Focus is not responsible for errors that remain because inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information was supplied by the client.

9. Draft Approval and Final Delivery

Once the client approves the draft and pays the outstanding balance, the final version will be delivered.

Delivery is made via a Canva link, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that they can access the delivered link and download or save their files promptly.

10. Scope of Service

Unless specifically stated otherwise, services are limited to the package or service agreed at the time of booking.

Any additional work outside the agreed scope may require a new quote or additional fee.

Examples of work outside scope may include:

  • additional revisions beyond the included revision
  • full rewrites after approval
  • urgent turnaround not originally agreed
  • extra documents or versions not included in the booked service
  • substantial changes in direction after drafting has begun

11. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Virtual Focus provides professional support intended to improve presentation, clarity, positioning, and personal branding.

However, Virtual Focus does not guarantee:

  • they have the right to provide that material
  • the material does not unlawfully infringe the rights of any third party
  • Virtual Focus may edit, reformat, adapt, and optimise that material for the purpose of delivering the service

The client remains responsible for the factual accuracy of the content provided.

13. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise agreed, the client may use the final delivered work for their own personal and professional use.

Virtual Focus retains all rights in its methods, templates, workflows, processes, design systems, and underlying service materials.

The client may not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit Virtual Focus materials, templates, or service outputs except for their own intended personal use.

14. Communication

Virtual Focus may communicate with clients by email and other agreed communication channels for the purpose of service delivery, support, approvals, and updates.

The client is responsible for checking their messages and responding timeously where input or approval is required.
